Introduction and Corporate History
CMA Asset Mangers, Inc. was formed in Oakland, California in May 1995 as a strategic property and asset management company. Our initial assignment: to respond to the needs of the City Center properties when the former developer and owner, Bramalea Pacific, Inc. lost control of the properties through foreclosure actions instituted by Toronto Dominion Bank.
The staffing composition of CMA Asset Managers, Inc. now includes several of the senior real estate professionals previously hired or utilized for City Center. This has preserved valuable project history and expertise. The team enjoys the same quality reputation that it formerly maintained with tenants, city officials, vendors, brokers and others. CMA Asset Managers, Inc. is organized to provide value-added services to other property owners as well, and presently does so for the City of Oakland, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Oakland, various private investment groups and for other Receivership assignments.
Prior to the formation of CMA Asset Managers, the principals were instrumental in the redevelopment and management of Jack London Square, including the construction and management of two parking facilities with a combined stall count of 1,800. Subsequently the principals moved to the City Center Redevelopment where they were responsible for the development, construction and management of 1,200,000 square feet of office and retail space. The principals worked closely with City of Oakland and the Redevelopment Agency to accomplish this mission.
As part of the City Center development, the principals directed the design, equipment specification, construction and management of City Center Garage West, a 1461 stall parking facility, which was a joint venture with the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Oakland. Please refer to the Summary of Work and Project descriptions for more detail on the company’s experience.
The mission of CMA Asset Managers, Inc. is to create an effective management environment in which asset/property management expertise, client satisfaction and responsible citizenship produce optimal property values and prosperity. This is accomplished through the delivery of intelligent, effective management and advice to select clients in the real estate, financial and corporate arena so as to increase flexibility, value and liquidity. In the course thereof, we believe our mission includes the responsibility to groom future managers.
This breadth of experience and sound corporate and individual philosophy, combined with extensive project history, clearly bring tangible value to the owners of investment properties.
